Our Story

A family business with a long love of the Omani coast

Horizon Blue is a family-run marine tourism operator based at Al Mouj Marina, Muscat. Two boats, a small crew, and a lifetime spent on these waters.

Horizon Blue was born from a simple thing — a lifetime spent on the Omani coast, and the urge to share it properly. We’re a family business, founded in 2025, and the whole crew is family, friends and locals who have known these waters longer than most resorts have been standing.

Why we do this

The Omani coast has been our second home for as long as any of us can remember. Mornings on the water before sunrise, long fishing afternoons, watching the colour change over the Daymaniyat Islands as the day winds down — that’s where this company actually started, years before it had a name. Horizon Blue is what happened when that lifetime of practice met the question can we share this properly?

We love the sea, plainly. We love the Daymaniyat Islands in particular — some of the most diverse waters in the Arabian Sea, with hawksbill and green sea turtles year-round, vibrant coral reefs in shallow water, seasonal whale sharks every autumn, and a dolphin pod that turns up on the boat ride more often than not. We want guests to leave understanding what they just saw, and why it’s worth protecting.

The boats

Our fleet is small on purpose. Horizon ONE is our 36-foot flagship, powered by twin Suzuki 300HP engines — fast, smooth, the kind of ride that makes the crossing feel like part of the experience rather than a hurdle to get through. Horizon TWO is a cruiser with a generous shaded cabin and lounging space for up to 15 guests — the boat we recommend for families, longer days on the water, or anyone who’d rather be in the shade than on a bench.

Between the two, we run snorkelling tours, private charters and fishing trips out of Al Mouj Marina to the Daymaniyat Islands Nature Reserve and the wider Muscat coast.

How we operate

We’re conservation-minded because we have to be. Every tour respects the Ministry of Environment rules — no anchoring on coral, no fishing inside the reserve, no chasing wildlife — because the only way this place is still here in fifty years is if every operator treats it that way today. Our captains hold commercial maritime licences from the Sultanate of Oman and between them have more than thirty years on these waters.

We’re a small operator that owns its boats, knows its waters and would rather sail with you than rent you out to a third-party charter. We’re at the marina most days. Come say hello before you book.

Where we go

Our primary destination is the Daymaniyat Islands Nature Reserve, roughly 18 km off the Al Batinah coast. On private full-day charters we also visit Fahal Island and the productive fishing grounds further along the Muscat coast. If you have somewhere specific in mind, ask — we can usually accommodate.
