Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 350 OMR cover?

350 OMR is the flat boat charter fee for exclusive use of one of our Horizon Blue boats for a full 9-hour day. It covers the boat, captain, crew, all snorkelling equipment and refreshments. Ministry of Environment snorkelling permits are charged separately, per person, and confirmed at booking.

When does the full-day charter depart and return?

You pick your departure between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM at booking. The day runs for 9 hours from your chosen departure time, so a 9 AM departure returns by 6 PM. Earlier departures mean calmer seas and better visibility at the first sites.

What can we actually do with 9 hours?

A typical full-day charter visits 4 to 5 different snorkelling sites around the Daymaniyat Islands, with longer time in the water at each. Outside of turtle nesting season (May to October), you can also include a stop on one of the islands for a beach pause. Many guests combine snorkelling with light fishing — let us know at booking.

Is lunch included?

No, but we can arrange catering at extra cost — confirm at booking. You are also welcome to bring your own food. Alcohol is not permitted on board.

How many guests can a full-day private charter take?

Up to 12 on Horizon ONE, or up to 15 on Horizon TWO. The boat assigned depends on group size and availability. Let us know your preference at booking — Horizon TWO is the better choice for groups that want more shade and lounging space across a long day.

When is the best time of year for a full-day charter?

October to May offers the calmest seas, the clearest underwater visibility (typically 15–25 metres) and the most comfortable air temperature. May to October is sea turtle nesting season — landing on the islands is restricted but snorkelling in the surrounding waters is still excellent, and August to November is whale shark season.

Is the full-day charter good value vs. the half day?

For 100 OMR more than the half-day charter, you get 4 extra hours, the ability to reach more distant snorkelling sites, the option to include a beach stop or light fishing, and a much more relaxed pace. Most repeat-guest groups end up booking the full day.

What is the cancellation policy?

Full refund if cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. If we cancel due to unsafe sea conditions, full refund or a free reschedule.
