Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the fishing charter cost?
Half day (5 hours): 300 OMR. Full day (9 hours): 400 OMR. Flat boat charter, not per person — bring 2 anglers or 12, the price stays the same.
What time does the fishing charter depart?
You choose your departure at booking: 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. Earlier is generally better for fishing — fish are more active in the cooler morning hours.
What is included in the fishing charter?
Boat with a licensed captain, all rods, reels and tackle, live and frozen bait, bottled water and light refreshments, and a basic catch cleaning service back at the marina. No equipment to bring — show up and fish.
Do I need fishing experience?
No. Our captain has 30+ years of experience on Omani waters and routinely takes complete beginners — including children. You will learn the basics as we go. Equally, if you are an experienced angler, the captain knows the productive grounds and will adapt accordingly.
What fish will we catch?
Common targets off the Muscat coast include kingfish (Indian mackerel), tuna, barracuda, trevally and other jacks, hammour (grouper) and snapper. The exact species depends on the season, conditions and which grounds we work that day.
Do we keep the fish?
Yes. We provide a basic clean back at Al Mouj Marina so you can take your catch home or to a local restaurant. Many Muscat restaurants will cook your catch — just ask the marina concierge for recommendations.
Can we combine fishing with snorkelling?
On the half day, the time is tight so we recommend committing to fishing. On the full day, yes — let the captain know in advance and we will plan a stop at the Daymaniyat Islands for a snorkel mid-trip. Snorkelling equipment can be added.
What if we don’t catch anything?
It happens — fishing is fishing, not fish-buying. Our captain knows the productive grounds for the season and works hard to put you on fish. Most charters land at least 3–5 fish; many land far more. We do not refund for slow days, but the captain will use every hour to give you the best shot.
